The One With the Etons

A very interesting fact that I just got to know of is that my cousin wants to put his kid in a boarding school, known as most as the Eton of the East. Dont worry boys, I shall not belittle your school, it is not meant to be so. Merely trying to understand why it is so and isnt so. (Being married to one planted a degree of respect to it, nonetheless there are some matters that are still unanswered.)

Well anyway, in my previous entry, I mentioned about Kings being ruthless with their power and wealth. And one interesting fact brought up by my everdearest husband was that a Terengganu royalty was the last royalty to be schooling in this Eton of the East in the early 90's. So it seems now, the royalties or soon-to-be kings are no longer schooling in this prestigious school.

Nonetheless, we still hear that Prince William and the British royalties still went to Eton. (The English monarchy still believed in traditions and Eton).

So the tradition has been broken. Would it be because the school aint as prestigious as it seems now? Or would it be because these royalties fail to see the importance of being the elites of Malaysia as the old golden days?

When you were a student there, was there a glitch of feeling that you are one of the boys (royalties) or rather the elites? I am sure many have became these elites, and the list is endless...but if you were to have a kid, would you want to send him there? Would you advise the royalties to again start sending their children there to get proper education? Could it be that the royalties aint as they should be because they are not brought up in this Eton of the East?

How would you relive this Eton of the East, if for some reason, it is no longer as it should have been..?
