The One With the Value

Have you ever valued yourself? How much are you worth? Okay okay...we are talking about career track here.

So how much do you value? Place yourself in the job market, full of kiasu people...high achieving yuppies etc...how much do you cost?

How do you actually value yourself? Is it the quantity of skills that you have? Is it the quality of your skills? Or simply...YOU?!!!

When I was getting ready for my interview, I kept asking Zen, "How much should I ask for?" How much...
is this too high? is this too low? for the market? for myself?? (for myself...i think it will always be.."i need moreeee..." <-- hey that's a motivation okay?!!!)

A colleague of mine taught us about getting a higher value for yourself...
1. Always get more than 10% of your current pay.
2. Tell your new employer that your current is about to promote you and give you a raise soon (similar to counter offer)
3. Include your allowances and what-not in your current salary (in your resume)

Pretty interesting...

Care to try?
