The One With The Poor Little Child
It has been more than a fortnite ago since the case of Norishzyani Amylia Ahmad, a two-year-old child who was believed to have been kicked to death, was reported in the headlines. A tragedy! It got the attention of many. The poor innocent little child was rushed to Sungai Buloh Hospital by her parents after she was found vomitting and looking pale. The parents thought she was having normal fever.
Doctor later declared her 'Time of Death', on arrival at the hospital. Severe bruises were found with some pinch marks on body including her private parts. The case was later referred to University Malaya Medical Center (UMMC). Post-mortem indicated that the victim was being abused for more than 3 months. Her liver was badly injured. The girl also had a tear in the a**s, suspected to have been caused by a blunt or hard object.
At first, many fingers were pointed to the Indonesian maid who voluntarily quitted her job few days before that. However, since the maid was hired for just two weeks earlier, and the brutality had been done for months, the pointed fingers went back to the child's close relatives..
Yesterday, the mother, a 24-year-old executive was charged with the murder of her own child, under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence on conviction. The father who was also remanded to help the case later released and will turn as prosecution witness.
Although we could already sensed something fishy from day one, I didn't expect the mother to be the one and only charged.. It has always been the father who appears as the bad guy...

She didn't expect that police will turn her down? Hello! On the first day this case broke into the headlines, the parents said to the reporter something like, "We dont know how this could have happenned, we want police to take action.." and of course with some crocodile's tears..
WTF.. if you really know your child, then u shd've known her problem.. (line taken from Law & Order:SVU last night's episode.. :p)
Amylia suffered for months and they didnt even notice?? Too bad neighbours who saw the bruises didnt report this matter to police earlier..they should also be prosecuted...they should be aware of their responsibility as a neighbour or even as a good samaritan.. maybe the child's life could have been saved.. or maybe Almighty God love her even more and invited her earlier..
Let this be a lesson to all...
