It was a weekend with battles of derbies between clubs especially from English Premiership and Spanish La Liga last weekend. On Saturday, Manchester United entertained Liverpool where a spot kick converted by Murphy separated both teams.
On the next day, a London derby between Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal. The Gunners was up-high when their closest rival Chelsea beaten 2-1 by Newcastle at St James' Park although the visitors who took the lead with an early goal by Joe Cole. Amoebi grabbed the equalizer while Shearer's unstoppable right-foot drive took all the points. His 173rd goals for the club, 28th this season.
Knowing just a draw could secure them their 13th top-league title, the Gunners started first half commandingly with a goal from a counter attack played by Henry, fed by Bergkamp and finished by skipper Vieira. The scorer then turned to be the feeder, Pires scored and things seemed to be all wrong for Spurs.
In the second half, Spurs' caretaker David Pleat made a major change by introducing another striker, Defoe. And since then, Spurs put Gunners in defending mode. Spurs pulled a goal back with a thunderous volley by captain Redknapp, who made a promise to deny their arch-rivals Arsenal from lifting their title at White Hart Lane. However they just managed to get a draw after a late spot kick was given by referee on a foul by Lehmann against Keane. The striker simply converted the kick himself. The game finished at 2-2.
The Premiership title then goes North London. Sweeter news to Arsenal top marksman Henry who later crowned the PFA Player of the Year Award.
Late night game between Spanish top teams Real Madrid and Barcelona at Santiago Bernebeu ended at 1-2. Xavi scored late for Barca to secure a victory over 10-man Real. Former Barca hero Figo was dismissed after his foul over Puyol.
I received a phone call from my sister saying Kak Mai safely delivered her first baby.. and as expected.. it is a girl.. 4 girls in total (3 from Kak Umi).. Yet to have a nephew then.. (hopefully a son in another 8 months.. aminnn.. )
Details to come..
Latest update : Say hi to Durrahannah Haziqah binti Zabidi - aka Durra aka Mariam..
Did you listen to MIX.fm today? You should my dear.. Topic of the day was 'Do you support public breastfeeding?" brought by the pregnant Shaz. She was having a casual lunch when her friend suddently popped her breast out to feed her little infant.. Shaz felt a bit awkward when all eyes in the restaurant kept staring to her friend's miraculous thingy.. hehe..
Then a caller gave her opinion.. one shouldn't breastfeed their infant in public.. her reason was simple.. MEN are perverts.. she also suggested that breastfeeding should be done in a private place such as ladies room..
Hmmm.. so easy to make a conclusion isn't it.. is it true? are men really perverts? will they turn-on with by just looking? I dont think so..
I don't think I wanna make ladies room as a place for my child having his/her meal.. It is not proper, is it? but will you flash it out when people is around?
hmm.. i yet to decide.. any thoughts?
I overheard a conversation between a group of people from another department in my office.. They are the one who prepare for tender with another company and currently they are preparing for a presentation to a goverment agency.. this govt agency set a condition which sounds something like this, "In order to bid for their tender, one must prepare their document, presentation etc in Bahasa Malaysia.. it is ok to speak in broken language.. but cannot in fully English.."
So, it was their biggest task to translate IT terms to BM such as 'Antivirus', 'Computer bug', 'Worms' etc.....
I was wondering
HARDWARE = BARANGKERAS;
SOFTWARE = BARANGLEMBUT;
JOYSTICK = BATANGRIA;
PLUG AND PLAY = CUCUK DAN MAIN;
PORT = LUBANG;
SERVER = PELAYAN;
CLIENT = PELANGGAN;
"That server gives a plug and play service to the clients using either hardware or software joystick. The joystick goes into the port of the client."
"PELAYAN itu beri kepada PELANGGANnya layanan CUCUK dan MAIN dengan mempergunakan BATANGRIA jenis BARANGKERAS atau BARANGLEMBUT. BARANGRIA itu dimasukkan ke dalam LUBANG PELANGGAN."
p/s : These are just some basic terms, wait until u come across to Bluetooth(Gigi Biru), Handspring(Spring Tangan), Thumb Drive(Pemacu Ibu Jari), Screen Saver(Penyelamat Skrin?), FireWire(Dawai Api?), USB(Bas Bersiri Universal) etc..
This morning's MIX.fm topic of the day was "How do you know when your partner ...".
Very interesting topic. A guy called and his story goes like this ...
His business dinner with a lady sometime last week lasted more than 5 hours. It was pure business, the intention was, as he told his wife earlier. But he had 5 hours of chit-chatting ( business and all ), but the lady was trying to push her luck. And to make things worst, his wife called him 8 times (if i m not mistaken), which he didnt answer all 7 calls. The last one was a sms, "You have been gone for 5 hours for dinner. Can you please tell me what is happening?" - something like that. The lady then said something like "Dont worry la about your wife. I am sure she is understanding bla bla..." The guy thought that that was a bit too much. How would the lady know of him and his wife? So finally, he told the lady off. He had talked everything about business so it is time for her to go her way, and him his way.
When he got home, his wife was furious. He couldnt look into her eyes, as he knew it was blazing mad. All his wife said that, "nih la org lelaki, kalo jumpa pompuan gatal jek, dok layan sampai berjam2. Wait la if I have a business dinner, and it lasted more than 5 hours, you'll feel what I feel."
I was laughing on my way to work listening to this dude telling his story. Well, I was just thinking. Men are men, and I know they cant resist temptations (ladies, dont you agree?). But of course, there's limitation. And being men, maybe it is just better that you just look at others and not feel a thing for them. (So idealistic, right?) But for a girl, a lady...to actually try to push her luck with some married men?!!! I think that is a bit too much dont you think so? How could even think of jeopardising a marriage? Even if the man is allowed to have more than one legally, that shouldn't be something legal to simple logic thinking or to the heart affairs. To girls who think that the best man is a married man, if you can do that to another married woman, well..it can happen to you too when you are married.
I just hope and pray everyday that my man would be that extra-special man who will always be the man he is today, loving me absolutely, unconditionally. And that no such obstacle will come by our way. InsyaAllah. Amin.
I love you dear, and I cant wait for our next visit to the gynae. We're having a baby!!!
Well, it was last Wednesday morning when we did 'our' self-pregnancy test and it was positive!! Yeys.. It was the happiest moment of my life and the excitement still continues.. However deep inside I feel some nervousness in our days to come.. Big responsibilities for us.. Could we manage to handle it in such young age??
So we began our 'official' journey on Saturday, where we paid a visit to our gynea.. Dr Siva of DSH.. Quoted below our (+) conversation with him (=)...
(+) She's missing her period and we did the test.. it was positive..
(=) Hmm.. pregnant.. so how long u guys have been married??
(+) Around 7 months..
(=) When was ur last period, first day?
(+) Answered... (I'm not gonna tell that.. )
(=) So your due date will be around 11/12/2004, plus a week if ur period is irregular
In a split second, he predicted our date of due.. heh.. then he started to explain on how the pregnancy begins, process, development, etc.. (refreshed back my memories in Biology subject.. hehe..) basically it was not a new information but the way he explained it really convinced us..
then the next big step - the ultrasound scan.. there we saw for first time in person our unborn child.. although it is just a tiny dot.. but it is really huge for us.. Dr Siva said.. in another 3 weeks we would see a mass development on the fetus.. we just couldnt wait.. dont you think so, my dear??
A brief synopsis...
Sir Thomas More is a religious stateman, who turned into silence everytime he opposes the Court. He tries his best to be the honest stateman he is and keep his head on his shoulders. But silence always meant otherwise, when given a statement. He only had to say "Yes!" in order to keep his life as it is. Yet, he stood by his principle, and vowed into silence, that he will only talk of his oath to the King. From a high status in court to the bottom in the dungeon/jail, he tried to keep his faith and hoped that his family understood him. It did not matter if others did not understand it. He hoped for a miracle for the King to suddenly come to his senses, but that did not happen...
For starters, we were already very very full, and tired even before the show started. The show I am referring to is the remake of Robert Bolt's "A Man for All Seasons". It's a play (Please refer to The One with A Man for All Seasons). I was truly looking forward to this show. It was just so unfortunate that my physical and mental mind were not up to it.
The show was very interesting actually, the prop setting was very simple. It was more a show of talent and their 'English'. One could only focus on what they were saying, and how they delivered it, by speech and facial expression. Definitely talented people. There are times when one forgets his line, but that did not jeopardise the show, it was merely a cough in that show. And who ever said that we Malaysian can only speak Manglish? Or that we Malaysians aren't good enough?
Eventhough this is the 2nd English play I went to, the line up for this show is superb. I loved Jit Murad's comical face, Zahim AlBakri's serious look, everyone was splendid. Zahim played his part well. I could feel Master Cromwell slyness under my skin. At first, I was skeptical of Sh. Aleya. I have only seen her in the Malay movie, so I had wanted to see how she did it in this play. Not bad at all, for a beginner. I think she's an amateur. Nonetheless, all I could say is that it is definitely one of the plays that is worth watching.
The response was marvelous. Nearly all seats were taken. They even had to add some extras in between. And you can actually everyone there. The young. The old. The goofy like. The straight-cut. I just wished that the price would forever be as last nite, or even lower that is.
Last night's show was a special one, the price was fixed at RM35. Any normal plays (by Actor's Studio) are RM52 above. And that's a little bit too pricy for me!
But for all the play-goers in Malaysia, if you have that extra in the pocket, theatre culture is coming up in Malaysia. So, head on to one of the best plays in Malaysia by Joe Hafsham, commencing the 15 years of Actor's Studio.
Newcastle United continue their journey to win a major trophy by passed through PSV, winning 3-2 on aggregate. The Magpies won a return leg 2-1 at SJP after tied 1-1 last week. Away goal from young Jermaine Jenas last week was really valuable. But last night goals worth even more. Securing a spot in semifinal. It was 35 years back since Newcastle got into the semifinal round of UEFA Cup. 1969 was also the year when Magpies won their last major trophy, then known as Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. Two headed goals from the old lads, Shearer, 34 and Speed, 35. Fine assists by corner taker Laurent Robert.
I support Shearer from his days with Blackburn Rovers. A £15m transfer to Newcastle making me changed my favourite team. Doesnt matter if they dont have the best team. But one thing for sure they have the best all time premier league scorer. And now same old Shearer still couldn't stop scoring. Super Al plans to retire after next season ends. Newcastle should start to look out for replacement. Bellamy can't go alone. It is very well-known that Newcastle always have their 'Great Number 9'. Who will it be? Let the quest for glory continues..

ABCs of a healthy pregnancy: What every mom-to-be needs to know
You're pregnant! It's such an exciting time, but it can be a little scary too. It's an awesome responsibility knowing that the new life growing inside you depends on you right now for all of its needs. Find out everything you need to know -- from A to Z -- to stay healthy during pregnancy, and then get week-by-week pregnancy updates.
Avoid exposure to toxic substances and chemicals, such as cleaning solvents, lead and mercury, some insecticides and paint. Pregnant women should also avoid exposure to paint fumes. Learn what's safe -- and what's not -- during pregnancy.
Be sure to get prenatal care as soon as you think you're pregnant. It's important to see your care provider regularly throughout pregnancy, so be sure to keep all your prenatal care appointments. Find out more about choosing a care provider.
Breastfeeding is the healthiest choice for both you and your baby. Talk to your doctor, your family and friends, and your employer about how you choose to feed your baby and how they can support you in your decision.
Cigarette smoking during pregnancy can result in low-birth-weight babies. It has been associated with infertility, miscarriages, tubal pregnancies, infant mortality and childhood morbidity. Additionally, cigarette smoking may cause long-term learning disabilities. If you smoke, you should try to quit. Secondary smoke may also harm a mother and her developing baby. It is a good idea to ask people to stop smoking around you during your pregnancy and after the baby is born. Get even more reasons why it's important to quit -- and find out how to do it.
Drink extra fluids (water is best) throughout pregnancy to help your body keep up with the increases in your blood volume. Drink at least six to eight glasses of water, fruit juice or milk each day. A good way to know you're drinking enough fluid is when your urine looks like almost-clear water or is very light yellow.
Eat healthy to get the nutrients you and your unborn baby need. Your meals should include the five basic food groups. Each day you should get the following: 6 to 11 servings of grain products, 3 to 5 servings of vegetables, 2 to 4 servings of fruits, 4 to 6 servings of milk and milk products, and 3 to 4 servings of meat and protein foods. Foods low in fat and high in fiber are important to a healthy diet. Learn more about healthy eating for moms-to-be.
Folic Acid. Take 400 micrograms of folic acid daily, both before pregnancy and during the first few months of pregnancy, to reduce the risk of birth defects of the brain and spine. All women who could possibly become pregnant should take a vitamin with folic acid every day. It is also important to eat a healthy diet with fortified foods (enriched grain products, including cereals, rice, breads and pastas) and foods with natural sources of folate (orange juice, green leafy vegetables, beans, peanuts, broccoli, asparagus, peas and lentils).
Genetic counselors are part of the health care team and have special training to help families learn about birth defects and conditions passed down through a family. If there have been problems with pregnancies or birth defects in your family, report these to your doctor. Get answers to your most-asked questions about birth defects.
Hand washing is important throughout the day, especially after handling raw meat or using the bathroom. This can help prevent the spread of many bacteria and viruses that cause infection.
Iron. Take 30 milligrams of iron during your pregnancy as prescribed by your doctor to reduce the risk of anemia later in pregnancy. All women of childbearing age should eat a diet rich in iron. Learn how to boost your iron level.
Join other moms-to-be in an expecting club, a support group or a class on parenting or childbirth.
Know your limits. Let your physician know if you experience any of the following: pain of any kind, strong cramps, uterine contractions at 20-minute intervals, vaginal bleeding, leaking of amniotic fluid, dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath, palpitations, tachycardia (rapid beating of the heart), constant nausea and vomiting, trouble walking, edema (swelling of joints) or decreased activity from your baby. Read about pregnancy complications.
Learn about the safety of alcohol and caffeine use during pregnancy. These are important issues for pregnant women. There is no safe amount of alcohol a woman can drink while pregnant. Fetal alcohol syndrome, a disorder characterized by growth retardation, facial abnormalities and central nervous system dysfunction, is caused by a woman's use of alcohol during pregnancy. Caffeine, found in tea, coffee, soft drinks and chocolate, should also be limited. Be sure to read labels when trying to cut down on caffeine during pregnancy. More than 200 foods, beverages and over-the-counter medications contain caffeine!
Medical conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy and high blood pressure should be treated and kept under control. Ask your doctor about any medications that may need to be changed or adjusted during pregnancy. If you are currently taking any medications -- either prescription or over-the counter -- ask your doctor if it is safe to take them while you're pregnant. Also, be sure to discuss any herbs or vitamins you are taking. Read more about preexisting medical conditions and pregnancy.
Never be afraid to ask your care provider questions about your health. It is better to take all precautions and discuss any questions or concerns you may have.
Over-the-counter cough and cold remedies may contain alcohol or other ingredients that should be avoided during pregnancy. Ask your health care provider about prescription or over-the-counter drugs that you are taking or may consider taking while pregnant. Find out which medications are safe -- and which are not.
Physical activity during pregnancy can benefit both you and your baby by lessening discomfort and fatigue, providing a sense of well-being and increasing the likelihood of early recovery after delivery. Light to moderate exercise during pregnancy strengthens the abdominal and back muscles, which help to improve posture. Practicing yoga, walking, swimming and cycling on a stationary bicycle are usually safe exercises for pregnant women. But always check with your doctor before beginning any kind of exercise, especially during pregnancy. Learn more about fitness during pregnancy.
Queasiness, stomach upset and morning sickness are common during pregnancy. Foods that you normally love may make you feel sick to your stomach. You may need to substitute other nutritious foods. Eating five or six small meals a day instead of three large ones may make you feel better. Get tips to ease the queasiness.
Read how to get started babyproofing your home. These are important tips for making your home a safer environment for your baby.
Saunas, hot tubs and steam rooms should be avoided while you are pregnant. Excessive high heat may be harmful during your pregnancy.
Toxoplasmosis is an infection caused by a parasite that can seriously harm an unborn baby. Avoid eating undercooked meat and handling cat litter, and be sure to wear gloves when gardening. Learn 11 safety guidelines.
Uterus size increases during the first trimester, which, along with more efficient functioning of your kidneys, may cause you to feel the need to urinate more often. You may also leak urine when sneezing, coughing or laughing. This is due to the growing uterus pressing against your bladder, which lies directly in front of and slightly under the uterus during the first few months of pregnancy. If you experience burning along with frequent urination, be sure to tell your doctor.
Vaccinations are an important concern for pregnant women. Get needed vaccines before pregnancy. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have clear guidelines for the use of vaccines during pregnancy. Review the list and be sure to discuss vaccinations with your care provider.
Weight. Being overweight or underweight during pregnancy may cause problems. Try to get within 15 pounds of your ideal weight before pregnancy. Remember, pregnancy is not a time to be dieting! Don't stop eating or start skipping meals as your weight increases. Both you and your baby need the calories and nutrition you receive from a healthy diet. Be sure to consult with your doctor about your diet.
X-rays. Avoid X-rays. If you must have dental work or diagnostic tests, tell your dentist or physician that you are pregnant so that extra care can be taken.
You are very important to your baby. Show your baby that you love her too by giving her a healthy environment to live in while you are pregnant.
Zzzz. Get your ZZZZ's. Rest on your side as often as possible, especially on your left side, as it provides the best circulation to your baby and can help reduce swelling. Find out more about getting a good night's sleep during pregnancy.

Heard this song on the radio. Thought I should share the lyrics with everyone.
I'm 15 for a moment
Caught in between 10 and 20
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I'm 22 for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
I'm 33 for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm a they
A kid on the way
A family on my mind
I'm 45 for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy, Time to lose yourself
Within a morning star
15 I'm all right with you
15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live
Half time goes by
Suddenly you’re wise
Another blink of an eye
67 is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on...
I'm 99 for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
15 there's still time for you
22 I feel her too
33 you’re on your way
Every day's a new day...
15 there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live

Ton coeur trop lourd ;
In Arles, where are Aliscams,
When the shade is red, under the pinks,
And clear time,
Take guard with the softness of the things,
When you feel to beat without cause
Your too heavy heart,
And that the doves are keep silent:
Speak low if it is of love,
At the edge of the tombs.
Milan of Man on the Train, liked the last line "Prends garde à la douceur des choses. " - Take guard/beware of the softness/sweetness of things.
Something to ponder?
Sur le Pont Neuf j'ai rencontré...
Celui que je fus à l'orée
Celui que je fus à l'aurore
by Louis Aragon (1956)
Watched Patrice Leconte's Man On the Train, a French movie last night. For short synopsis, it was about two guys; Manesquier and Milan. Manesquier, a retired literature teacher while Milan, a criminal. Both were waiting for the coming Saturday. On that very day, they were to be on an important event of their lives. For Milan, it was to rob the bank; which he normally does anyway after retiring from the circus as a stuntnman. So we could foresee that somehow the Saturday robbery in this small province is different than the others for Milan. As for Manesquier, it was a heart operation that was indeed death threathening. Two men, on the verge of the end of their lives, turned to strangers, in search of themselves, the meaning of their lives and their hopes and dreams.
As for me, I like the simplicity of two total strangers meet before the end of the their lives, to entwine together, and embark on a special friendship that totally bedazzles all. Manesquier was a chatty and was probably thought as a nuisance to Milan. And Milan being so secretive and defensive however succumbed to the power of Manesquier's honest conversation. Both were astonished and envied each other. Both respected each other. Then, that's when the friendship was created. Although, the friendship only lasted less than a week, I am sure those were the days that they would remember on the day they died. As for Milan and Manesquier, their envy tend to make them wish that they were living each other lives. Or in another way, they want to be given a second chance in life to lead a different life.
More critics;Patrice Leconte's Man On the Train, had a different end in this movie. He gave the characters a few seconds to relive that dream of theirs. And that got me into thinking that, that's definitely very unrealistic but seems to be very optimistic in some ways to the living. In which, as someone still breathing today, if you ever might think that you might die today, and if you have some dreams or hopes that you want to fulfil, there's always that one second for you to change your lives. Perhaps you might still be breathing the next second. You might never know the outcome if you dont do it. And you might never know when your time is up.
Be optimistic. Grab the chances. Make that change. Seize the day!
Man On the Train won Best Picture and Best Actor (Jean Rochefort as Manesquier) for Venice Film Festival 2003.

“It is all right to spend a lot of money and work hard collectively with all parties so as to produce a future generation that has high spirit, is patriotic and appreciates good values.
.. I understand the idea of encouraging and rewarding those teenagers.. but what with the free gig ?? Is that what they meant by high spirit slash good value..

I heard over Mix.fm, Shazmin said something about J.Lo's mother (Jennifer not Jason) won £1.2m over the jackpot at Atlantic City.. 1.2m pound sterling.. almost RM10m.. how lucky.. so topic for the day.. 'Your Lucky Break'..
I always spend my freetime watching TV Gameshow.. since my childhood age : Double Dare, Fun House, Win, Lose or Draw, (there was one British charade game during the 80s I couldnt remember the name..), 90s Price Is Right, More Jutaria, Pyramid Game, Wheel of Fortune/Roda Impian and of course game of the new century 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire'..
All these TV Show offer big money to be won.. some require brain and some require brawn..
I laughed like hell when people answered 'ROTI KOBOI' to a Roda Impian puzzle '*O*I KOBOI' (clue : BENDA).. how stupid can they be?? or if somebody call his uncle to ask on a silly Standard 6 question in his road to be a milionaire.. I can answer all that.. on average.. I think I could win at least 32k from every WWTBAM game without losing any lifeline.. haha.. and again it was only my pep talk.. I wonder what will happen if I'm the one who rolling the wheel.. or sitting in front of Jalaludin Hassan.. hehe.. I'm sure I'll be sweating all over..
Is it really about brain and brawn.. or u also need some luck?
Actually I dont really believe in luck.. It wasn't luck for Ahmad Samerin to win RM1m in More Jutaria or Kelly Clarkson to be the American Idol.. It was their effort + their rezeki.. our day will come.. insyaallah..

I don't think I wanna review this movie.. Reasons :
1. Ridiculous acts by the censorship board although it has been rated with 18SX..
2. a '50 First Dates' a day back.. there's no Ula in Along Came Polly
3. Ben + Jennifer = Bennifer = no chemistry
Dreadful 3.5 out 10
+ + +
The best part.. twin-seater of GSC..
ps: "Kalao tak nak kasik bley tak??"
Oh.. I just remembered.. It would be my late father's 61st birthday today if he still alive.. Al-Fatihah to Almarhum Dol Bakri bin Nasom.. I miss him so much..
As I watched the 50 First Dates, I was intrigued on how Henry tried to woo and tackle Lucy everyday (please refer to the previous blog "The One with the 50 First Dates"). Henry had 1001 million tricks or rather pick up lines, just to get Lucy's attention. It was not always "Hi. Have I seen you somewhere?" (I dont remember Henry using that though) or "Hi Beautiful. What's your name?" and stuff like that.
I am sure you guys out there would probably have some dictionary hidden somewhere with all of these famous pickup lines. Yet, as Lucy was a special girl, it was pretty difficult to woo her. Which means that Henry had to plan some genius acts to get to her. And he had to plan it out everyday, as she cant remember him (Goldfield Syndrome).
It just amazed me on how creative Henry was. And the effort. The love. The love to create 'that' spark almost everyday.
I heard Mix.fm session with Dr Rosie King the other day. Dr Rosie King is a sex-therapist from Australia. There was a caller who asked a question, "Why is it that young couples tend to be separated after a short time of marriage?" Dr Rosie answered her (as what I understood) was that youg couples nowadays are mostly working couple, both would be stressed out at the end of the day, too tired from their busy working life. Once they are home, they just went to bed. No intimacy. Too tired to do so. Nothing physically. Nothing mentally. Not even a communication. And, if it happens everyday, and each day, these couples tend to lead their own lives, they would definitely separate themselves automatically. It is fine to be tired. It is fine not to have a sexual intimacy everyday. But to lead different lives altogether, well it would not work. Somehow there must be some convergence.
So I got into thinking. What if I was Lucy? How would the communication be like? Will Henry be ever tired to give the endless first kiss? Or to say "I love you" everyday? How do they converge?
Dr Rosie King also mention about trying to create that spark once in awhile to get back together. To converge again. To remember why we were together in the first place. And it should not be in a form of sexual intimacy. Something like when the courting times. The wooing times. The flowers. The music. The words, that seems to be poetry. The chocoloates. The shyness. The boldness. The chasing.
Looking at Henry, it seems as though he is never tired of doing it. Then again, let's get back to the reality. When should you stop wooing (if you are a single)? When should you start wooing your spouse again (if you are married)?
Would there be a time when you are too comfortable in your comfort zone that you forget the lighten up the spark?
You might say, true love does not die. Soulmates are meant to be together.
True, but marriage still needs to work. Sparks of true love may probably be endless, but still there's a time when you wanna put that extra umph! to it. Soulmates? Well, we are not sure of our soulmates. So let's try to imagine that your spouse is your soulmate, and you would not want to lose him/her right?
I guess if you got everything working fine, then on your dying bed, you would think back the days of your lives, and thought that you definitely held on your soulmate.
Approaching my 7-months anniversary, I have started working on our marriage even before we got married. And I hope will never be tired of the endless working, wooing and courting for my marriage, my soulmate, my husband.
To my dearest husband, it is a pleasure sayang...
'50 First Dates' rejoins Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore after 1998 hillarious 'The Wedding Singer'.. Henry (Sandler) is a zookeeper and eligible bachelor in Hawaii who afraid of commitment.. he suddenly falls for Lucy (Barrymore) who happen to be a 'special' girl.. she suffered suffered a short-term memory loss disorder or Goldfield's syndrome which unable to convert her memories to long term.. Lucy wakes up every morning thinking that it’s Sunday October 12th.. a day before she involved in a bad accident.. In spite of her inability to remember him, Henry falls madly in love with Lucy, and he spends every day winning her heart..
As any other Sandler's film, comedian Rob Schneider (Animal, Hot Chicks) will make his cameo.. In 50 First Dates, Rob featured as Ula, Henry's 'crazy' native Hawaiian with 5 kids who supplies the 'dumb' comedy (esp the part where he got beaten the hell up by a baseball bat.. hehe).. Sean Astin (LOTR, Samwise Gamgee) also featured in this movie as Lucy's brother..
50 First Dates will be a nice romantic comedy to watch esp with dates.. absolute hillarious.. burst all your laugh out.. the best comedy so far this year (I haven't watch Along Came Polly though).. 7 out of 10..
What would you do if one fine day.. somebody says 'Hi!' to you but you dont have any idea who he/she is...
That happened to me last night.. I was about to buy '50 First Dates' (review to come) movie tickets.. then the counter ticket girl said 'Hi!' to me.. knowing that I dont have too many girl friends.. I thought she must be one of Ichah's friend.. but the way she looked at me made me re-think again.. who is she!! aghhhh.. I got so blur, tried to peek her nametag.. looked for her name in the computer screen but to no avail.. it went for couple of secs until she said "tak kenal? tak kenal tak apa lah.." oh no.. u got me.. the situation was getting worse and worse.. luckily Ichah was there.. covered for me.. "lama ke kerje sinih.." phewww... I should've said that.. rather than make a silly face.. haha.. I got my tix and asked "ticket free tader ker?" isk.. shame on me.. she gave me ZA goodies instead..
so we walked out from there and looking for dinner.. I asked Ichah.. "Who is she? ur friend?".. "Hey.. it was *****"
hahahaa.... ohmygod.. silly me.. to Mr Ayul.. sorry.. I forgot ur Miss..
The Original Version..
The ant busts his @$$ in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he's a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold.
The Updated Version
Once upon a time, there lived an ant and a grasshopper. The grasshopper does nothing else but jump around and play. On the other hand, the ant is so hardworking, looking for food all day long and store them in it's nest.
Looking at his hardworking friend working so hard, the grasshopper ask,
"Hey, Ant! U dun have to relax ah? Always busy one. Come and play with me lah."
To which the ant replied, "I can't lah i have to store all these food."
"Haiyah! Relaxlah. Why u bother storing all these food? When u hungry then go find lah." the grasshopper told the ant again.
"Eh,cannot lah. I have to standby for the coming winter season. Then I no need to panick mah. I think u also must standby u know." the ant telling his friend.
"Where got time...I go play better. U wanna store food u go ahead lah. I continue playing ok.. bye!" And hop goes the grasshopper.
The Ant is a hardworking guy... oops i mean insect. Not like the grasshopper who is so lazy. And so as days, weeks, months go by,the winter still has not come yet but the ant is still seen searching and storing food.
The two friends happen to meet again. "Hey Ant! U stil haven't finished storing food ah? last time all the food all go where? So fast finish ah?" asked grasshopper.
"I got keep but all overdue liao. So cannot eat anymore. All because winter not here yet. Now i have to go and look for new food." sighed the ant.
"But ant ah.. U dun mind i ask ah.. Did u ever have a thought that MALAYSIA where got winter?" ask the grasshopper again.
"AHHHH????!!!!!" the ant was shocked!
MORAL : Work SMART not just hard..
In the papers a few weeks back, I was shocked to know that Microsoft were to be sued a few millions for domineering the market in Switzerland. I cannot seem to get the article, but if I am not mistaken, there is a law in EU that states that a company cannot dominate the entire (or a max percentage) of the market in a country. I am not so sure about this. Perhaps someone could back me up here
Anyway, it should be governed in all countries. And should be governed for all sectors. Not just business. But also, work opportunities for example.
Particularly, being in the IT world, I have come to realise that there is a certain group of people who is domineering the job market. Some says it is because they are cheap. And there's a lot of them. Some says because they are good. They are the BEST!
Nonetheless, how do you define best? How do you define cheap? What I can see is that the locals are paid considerably low. They say that once the locals are a little bit smarter than the day they first joined, they would start job hopping. Perhaps they should consider this too, could it be that they are dissatisfied with something? If they are satisfied with your package, I am sure they would not be going anywhere. If they get a better offer, give them a reason to stay. (Still job-hopping sounds fun)
How do you define best? Is working 24/7/365 cheap and good? What matters more, QUALITY or QUANTITY? What happens to a cow if you keep on milking it all day long, all week long, all year long?
Now that we know there's that group thats domineering the job market, how do we tackle the situation? How do we counter back? Should we drop everything else and start working 24/7/365? Or stop having a life, and study and work and study and work ...
Can someone please stop taking everything? Share it with everyone. It is not yours alone anyway. Whether you are good, or the best as they say, or even if you deserve to have all the angels around you, share it.
Be aware: You might be good in one section, but not in another.
And for those who is always out-of-luck, please be reminded that God is always loving towards his subjects, no one is exceptional. I am sure our day will come. And when it comes, seize it well. And dont forget to share it too.
Nonetheless, for all those employers out there, give some credit to the locals. Give some credit to everyone. Give that small opportunity to everyone. I am sure they will appreciate it.
Waiting to seize MY day
I received an interesting email from my superior just now and would like to share with everybody...
Quoted as below:
If the return trip took more than a few days, the fish would not be fresh. The Japanese did not like the taste. To solve this problem, fishing companies installed freezers on their boats. They would catch the fish and freeze them at sea. Freezers allowed the boats to go farther and stay longer.
However, the Japanese could taste the difference between fresh and frozen and they did not like frozen fish. The frozen fish brought a lower price. So fishing companies installed fish tanks.
They would catch the fish and stuff them in the tanks. After a little thrashing around, the fish stopped moving. They were tired and dull, but alive.
Unfortunately, the Japanese could still taste the difference. Because the fish did not move for days, they lost their fresh-fish taste. The Japanese preferred the lively taste of fresh fish, not sluggish fish.
So how did Japanese fishing companies solve this problem? How do they get fresh-tasting fish to Japan? If you were consulting the fish industry, what would you recommend?
Imagine ourselves, as the fishermen..
As soon as you reach your goals, such as finding a wonderful mate, good working conditions, paying off your debts or whatever, you might lose your passion. You don't need to work so hard so you relax. You experience the same problem as lottery winners who waste their money, wealthy heirs who never grow up and bored homemakers who get addicted to prescription drugs.
Like the Japanese fish problem, the best solution is simple.
"Man thrives, oddly enough, only in the presence of a challenging environment."
- L. Ron Hubbard, The Benefits of a Challenge:
The more intelligent, persistent and competent you are, the more you enjoy a good problem. If your challenges are of the correct size, and if you are steadily conquering those challenges, you are happy. You think of your challenges and get energized. You are excited to try new solutions. You have fun! You are alive!
Now, back to how Japanese Fish Stay Fresh:
To keep the fish tasting fresh, the Japanese fishing companies still put the fish in the tanks. But now they add a small shark to each tank. The shark eats a few fish, but most of the fish arrive in a very lively state.
The fish are challenged.
Instead of avoiding challenges, jump into them. Beat the heck out of them. Enjoy the game. If your challenges are too large or too numerous, do not give up. Failing makes you tired. Instead, reorganize. Find more determination, more knowledge, more help. If you have met your goals, set some bigger goals. Once you meet your personal or family needs, move onto goals for your group, the society, even mankind. Don't create success and lie in it. You have resources, skills and abilities to make a difference."
So, put a shark in your tank and see how far you can really go!
For starters, what you need to know is that my company is currently developing an application, kind-of huge too. But as for me, a 2 years working-experience analyst programmer, such application need not be that huge, rather the functionalities should be. Nonetheless, to get straight to the point, the application was initially developed by the Indians. The application was marketed in S'pore, but the company went bankrupt due to bad management (management ok, not application..yeah rite?!!!). So it was said and told that is.
When the application reached my company, the Indian contractors had to come along with it. So now, we have 2 teams working on the project. The outsiders and US. Two teams working to modify the application, as required by the customer.
It was difficult to work as ONE team. The outsiders wanted to be in and kept us out. We wanted to be in, and had to struggle our way in (blocked by the outsiders of course). There's always another something blocking our way.
It's been one year, and OUR application has not been ours. We haven't even reach to the core of the application, let alone consider it to be ours. The outsiders have us by our neck. It has dawned to us, that we can never get rid of these outsiders.
Should we keep on fighting? Even when we were entrusted with a tiny modification, somehow when the work is done, we either had to redo it again (missing our datelines...) or it got lost...
Strange but true..
So what's the next strategy? How can we own this application? The outsiders still have our balls within their reach. We are tied to them. How can we untie things? How do we prove to our customer that this application is ours?
The application is going LIVE (in stages, per module) starting this May. So, after going live, there's still some modules needed for enhancement. It would probably end entirely end of this year.
So what's the next strategy?
After doing some thinking, I came to a conclusion. We definitely had to separate (The boss wanted us to become one happy 'family'). But I think, after one year, it would be best that we were to separate. Separate team. Separate environment. Separate development.
In order to prove that we can own this application, I suggested that we play the outsider's game now.
The outsiders have always thought that we simply cannot do anything with the application. So instead of trying to tell/prove to them, let's play dumb. But in the background, we have to start digging and get to the core of the application.
Next was the development side. There's 2 ways to do so:
1. Make enhancement to one of the components
2. Develop new module
We can easily do this. Nonetheless, once it is done, how do we convince our customer to use our component? They might be accustom to the old one already. They wouldn't want to change things.
We will definitely get new modules after going live. I suggested that we are to be entrusted to do at least one module. It has to be our ownership, without any interference, particularly the outsiders. Indeed, we would need a longer dateline, but it would definitely convince the customer that we are worthwhile (if everything goes weel). It would also convince everyone else that the outsiders are the outsiders. (for this option, it is either we go up, or totally down flat on our face)
I am more opt for the #2. More objective will be reached. Nonetheless, it is very confrontational, aka evil. Which my boss would say "SledgeHammer" way. And I am now listed as the 'evil' staff.
So, what if it happens to you? Two groups? One is keeping the key, the other looking for the key in the bushes. How evil can we be? What about work ethics? How can we achieve our goal? Should we just be the Mr Nice Guy?
As for me, no more MR NICE...
We will play your game. But we will make sure you lose at the end of the game.
DIE LOSER! I AM the EVIL SLEDGEHAMMER!
Quoted from an email from a friend :
Petikan drpd Risalah Fikrah.
Peliharalah Allah, nescaya Allah akan memelihara kamu ......riwayat Tarmizi..
A good lesson for us as a muslim.. furthermore.. I would like to add.. once in the 90s.. a malay rock group called Search was so famous with their song "Isabella".. It was Isabella I of Spain who threw down the Muslim government of Granada.. If it wasnt because of her, city of Granada, Cordoba and Andalucia would still be Muslim's famous cities..

At last, MIC will get a new leader.. after 9 terms, Samy Vellu decides the time has come..
I'm a regular user of NKVE now and Touch n Go card helps me to beat the queues.. I always maintain my card balance around RM5-RM60 max.. sometimes i could see people with RM150++ but today it came to shock me to see a driver touched his card with a balance of RM521.20.. 500?? what if the card lost..
I lost my card last month with some RM20++ in balance.. I went to the office but they said they cannot do anything.. I'd to buy another card.. i wondered.. before buying a card.. u have to complete a form with your details.. name.. ic.. address.. bla bla bla.. plus another RM15 deposit.. if they cannot retrieve our info from their database then why they need the details..
I would like to suggest TnG to make a system that can track down the card based on user.. one user can have more than one card.. say card #1, card #2 and so on.. say if user 1 reported that he lost his card #1.. TnG must be able to block any other transaction from card #1 and give back the balance to user 1 provided he buy another card.. but he'll lose his deposit..
I'm sure customers will appreciate that.. ..
