The One With The Dr Don't Wannabe
Quoted from The Star Online today :
Flashback to 7 years ago.. around this time, I received an offer from University Malaya to continue my Pre U studies in Centre For Foundation Studies In Science aka Pusat Asasi Sains. I actually applied for physical streams but was offered for biological streams. (If you are studying in physical streams, than u can proceed with ur degree course in Engineering School or Computer School. As for biological streams, one can go to Medical / Dentistrary or Computer School.
Back then, in my mind only thinking either going into Engineering Schools or Computer Schools. Since my eldest brother already a Doctor then I dont think I wanna be one.. Mama n Papa told me that I could be a good doctor, they would be very happy if seeing two of their sons becoming a doctor, but no thanks.. A month later I switched into physical streams.. I completed my Pre-U with CGPA 3.24, and applied for Computer Science course. Several friends of mine in Biological streams eg: Bongek, got slightly lower CGPA but still accepted into Medical School. So, technically I got the chance if I carried on with Bio streams.
Nowadays, it is almost impossible to get into a medical school. Even for 4-flat students. It is becoming more and more competitive.. I wonder what will happen 18 years from now.. Maybe we should plan to teach our children Russian languange.
